Digital Products to Resell in 2026: Start Selling Without Creating Everything From Scratch

So, you want to sell digital products. There’s just one teeny-tiny problem…

You don’t particularly fancy spending the next three months writing ebooks, designing planners, creating workbooks, making templates and developing products before you make your first $1.

Fair.

Because here’s the bit nobody seems to mention when they’re telling you how easy it is to sell digital products:

Creating the actual products can take FOREVER.

Research, Writing, Designing, Editing, Formatting, Mockups, Product descriptions, Pricing.

And after all that?

You still have to SELL the bloody thing. 😂

That’s exactly why digital products with resale rights exist.

Instead of beginning with an intimidating blank Canva page, you start with an existing product you’re permitted to customize, brand and sell according to its license.

But…and this is a pretty BIG but…

Not all resellable digital products are created equal.

And buying the wrong ones can leave you with 57 folders of random files you never use.

So before you buy another gigantic PLR bundle because someone promised you eleventy-billion templates for the price of a coffee…

Here’s what you actually need to know.

What Are Digital Products You Can Resell?

WAIT, ARE YOU ACTUALLY STARTING YOUR DIGITAL PRODUCT BUSINESS?

Not just thinking about it in the shower for the eleventh consecutive morning?

Alright, I made you something. It’s a free interactive checklist that walks you through what to sell, how to set the whole thing up, how to build an audience that gives a damn, and how to get the thing OUT into the world with a real date attached to it.

Because 47 ideas and no launch date isn’t technically a business.

Resellable digital products are digital assets sold with a license that gives you specific rights to use and/or resell them.

Depending on the license, this can include products such as:

  • planners
  • workbooks
  • journals
  • ebooks
  • checklists
  • business templates
  • social media templates
  • marketing resources
  • spreadsheets
  • guides
  • printables
  • content kits

Some products come with Private Label Rights (PLR), which may allow you to edit and rebrand the product before selling it.

Others come with Master Resell Rights (MRR) or commercial-use licenses with different rules.

And PLEASE don’t assume those terms mean exactly the same thing everywhere.

They don’t.

The license that comes with the product is what matters.

Read it.

Know what you’re allowed to change, where you’re allowed to sell, whether your customers receive resale rights and whether you need to substantially customize the product before listing it.

Boring? Maybe. Less boring than getting your shop into trouble later? Absolutely.

Why Sell Ready-Made Digital Products?

digital products to resell

I’ve got one word for you: TIME.

Say you decide today, Tuesday, 2:15pm, iced coffee sweating on the desk, that you’re going to sell a 40-page business workbook.

Starting from scratch, here’s your list:

research the topic

plan the workbook

write 40 pages (that’s 40 more pages than you have written so far today)

design 40 pages (in Canva, where time stops working normally)

proofread it

create the cover

make the product mockups

write your listing

create promotional graphics

THENNN, finally, exhausted, start marketing

By which point it’s November and you no longer like the workbook.

Or.

You grab a professionally built, fully editable product that’s already written and already designed, change the branding to yours, go through and then package it up and list it.

You just skipped the entire production department.

And that means your very limited hours go into the one part of this whole operation that puts money in your bank account:

MARKETING.

Not designing. Not proofreading page 27 for the fourth time. Selling.

But Don’t Make THIS Digital Product Mistake

Buying the biggest bundle you can find isn’t necessarily a smart business decision.

I know. “BUT THIS ONE HAS 10 MILLION PRODUCTS!!!” Whaaaatttt??? 🤯

Fantastic.

When exactly are you planning to inspect, customize, understand and market ten million products? 😂

The number of files in your Google Drive isn’t a business metric.

What matters is whether you can take a product and answer:

  • Who wants this?
  • What problem does it solve?
  • Why would they buy mine?
  • How should I position it?
  • What should I charge?
  • What could I bundle it with?
  • How am I going to get it in front of buyers?

If you can’t answer those questions, having another 40,000 templates isn’t necessarily helping you.

It’s just giving you more stuff to sort through.

That’s why I believe the future of resellable digital products isn’t about who can offer the biggest folder.

It’s about:

Better products + better positioning + better execution.

What Digital Products Can You Resell?

There are LOTS.

But if you’re building a real digital-product business, I prefer products that solve recognizable problems rather than products that merely look pretty.

Here are some categories worth exploring.

1. Business Templates

Think:

  • business planners
  • content planners
  • client resources
  • marketing templates
  • brand workbooks
  • pricing guides
  • lead-generation tools
  • email resources
  • business checklists

Why I like them:

The buyer isn’t necessarily buying a “template.”, They’re buying help accomplishing something in their business.

That’s a much stronger purchasing reason.

2. Planners

Yes. Planners still exist. 😂

But please don’t interpret that as:

MAKE ANOTHER GENERIC DAILY PLANNER.

Go specific. Instead of: Fitness Planner try: 12-Week Strength Training Planner for Women Over 40

Instead of: Budget Planner try: Variable-Income Budget Planner for Freelancers

Instead of: Content Planner try: 90-Day Content Planner for Real Estate Agents

See what happened?

Same basic product category.

Completely different positioning.

Specificity makes it much easier for someone to look at your product and think:

“Ohhhh. That’s for ME.”

3. Workbooks

This is one of my favorite categories because workbooks can solve very specific problems.

Examples:

Career Change Workbook

  • Impostor Syndrome Workbook
  • Personal Brand Workbook
  • Goal-Setting Workbook
  • Client Onboarding Workbook
  • Content Strategy Workbook
  • Self-Confidence Workbook
  • Business Planning Workbook

And workbooks are BEAUTIFUL for bundling.

Your $17 workbook can become part of a $37 bundle.

Your $37 bundle can become part of a $67 toolkit.

Your toolkit can become a bonus inside a larger offer.

One product doesn’t necessarily mean one sale.

4. Guides & Playbooks

Here’s where I would avoid the generic PLR ebook graveyard.

Don’t sell:

The Ultimate Guide to Success

What does that even mean? 😭

Sell:

  • The Freelancer Pricing Playbook
  • The First-Time Home Buyer Guide
  • The Email List Growth Playbook
  • The Career Change Guide
  • The Airbnb Guest Experience Guide
  • The Client Onboarding Playbook

The more clearly the title communicates:

WHO + PROBLEM + OUTCOME the easier the product becomes to understand.

5. Business Spreadsheets & Calculators

Pay attention to this category.

Because these products don’t just provide information, they DO something.

Think:

  • pricing calculators
  • profit calculators
  • budget dashboards
  • sales trackers
  • lead trackers
  • client CRMs
  • launch dashboards
  • product research trackers
  • expense trackers
  • revenue planners
  • digital product profitability calculators

And functionality can help you escape the race to the bottom.

You’re no longer saying: “Here’s a pretty template.”

You’re saying:

“Here’s a tool that helps you calculate your prices properly.”

MUCH better.

6. Niche Digital Product Bundles

This is another strategy I love.

Instead of selling 100 unrelated products, create a small collection around ONE customer.

For example:

Career Coach Digital Product Bundle

  • Career Clarity Workbook
  • Interview Confidence Workbook
  • Salary Negotiation Guide
  • Personal Brand Workbook
  • Career Change Planner

Or:

Freelancer Business Bundle

  • Client Onboarding Kit
  • Pricing Guide
  • Discovery Call Workbook
  • Client Questionnaire
  • Project Planner

Or:

Real Estate Bundle

  • Home Buyer Guide
  • Home Seller Guide
  • Moving Checklist
  • Open House Resources
  • Home Maintenance Planner

One customer, Multiple related problems and opportunities to sell.

That’s how you build a product ecosystem.

What Should You Look For Before Buying Digital Products to Resell?

digital products to resell

This matters a lot.

Before buying ANY PLR or resale-rights product, I’d check seven things.

1. Can you edit it?

You want enough flexibility to turn the original product into something that actually fits your brand and customer.

2. Is the design good enough?

Because if you’re buying something to SAVE time… spending six hours fixing terrible design defeats the point.

3. Is the content useful?

Pretty pages don’t rescue weak information.

4. Is the license clear?

Know exactly what you can and cannot do.

5. Can you differentiate it?

You should be able to change the branding, positioning, packaging and where the license permits content.

6. Can it become part of a bigger offer?

Think:

product → bundle → toolkit → premium offer.

7. Would YOU actually buy the finished product?

This one’s wonderfully simple.

Look at it like a customer.

Would you pay money for this? If the answer is: “Ehhhhhh…”

Don’t expect strangers to lose their minds over it.

How to Turn a Resellable Product Into YOUR Product

This is where people get lazy.

They download something, change beige to pink.

Upload it.

Then wonder why nobody buys it.

Nope.

I’d go considerably further.

Change the target customer.

Instead of a generic:

Content Planner

turn it into:

Content Planner for Wedding Photographers.

Change the positioning.

Don’t sell pages.

Sell the outcome.

Change the branding.

Fonts, Colors, Imagery, Voice, Examples, Cover.

Improve it.

Add:

  • checklists
  • examples
  • instructions
  • bonus pages
  • resources
  • calculators
  • templates

Bundle it.

One workbook might sell for $17.

Three related products could become a $47 toolkit.

Create better marketing.

Your product listing is part of the product, so your mockups, headline, description and positioning matters a lot.

Where Can You Buy Digital Products to Resell?

Once you’ve decided you don’t want to create every product from scratch, the next question is pretty obvious:

Where do you actually GET digital products you can resell?

You’ve got options.

Lots of them.

Possibly too many of them. 😂

And they’re definitely not all created equal.

PLR Marketplaces

PLR marketplaces give you access to products from different creators, often covering a HUGE range of niches.

They’re useful when you’re looking for something very specific or just want to browse what’s available.

The downside?

Quality can vary wildly.

You might find exactly what you need sitting next to a 47-page ebook that looks suspiciously like it last saw daylight in 2012.

So don’t buy purely because something comes with resale rights. Look at the actual product, the design, the content and — most importantly the license.

Could you genuinely turn this into something you’d be happy to sell?

That’s the question.

PLR Memberships

If you’re planning to build a bigger digital-product shop, a PLR membership can make sense.

Instead of buying individual products, you pay monthly or annually for access to a library or regular product drops.

The advantage is obvious: you don’t have to go hunting for new inventory every five minutes.

But MORE isn’t automatically better.

If you’re paying every month for products you’ll never use, you’ve basically created a subscription to digital clutter.

And I think we all have enough subscriptions we’re pretending we’ll cancel next month. 👀

Independent PLR Creators

You can also buy directly from independent designers and PLR creators.

These shops tend to be smaller than giant marketplaces, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

A smaller, more curated collection can make it considerably easier to find products that fit your niche, your customer and the kind of business you’re actually trying to build.

The important thing is to check who’s behind the products, what you’re getting and exactly what the license allows you to do with them.

Because “PLR included!” isn’t the end of your research.

It’s the beginning.

Mega PLR Bundles

Ahhh. The mega bundle.

10,000 templates!

100,000 digital products!

ELEVENTY BILLION FILES FOR $2.47! 😂

They’re tempting.

And yes, sometimes there can be useful products buried inside them.

But don’t confuse the number of files you’ve bought with the number of products you can realistically sell.

If you download 50,000 products and spend the next three weeks trying to work out what’s in the folders, you’ve saved precisely nobody any time.

Before buying a mega bundle, ask yourself:

Would I still want this if the sales page said “50 genuinely useful products” instead of “50,000 files”?

If the answer is no, you might be buying the NUMBER rather than the products.

Premium Curated PLR Libraries

The other option is a curated PLR library.

These are usually designed for people who care less about collecting the largest possible number of files and more about finding products they can actually turn into something worth selling.

That’s what I’d look for if you’re serious about building a digital-product business.

  • Good design.
  • Useful content.
  • Clear licensing.
  • Editable files.
  • Products that make sense for real buyers.

And enough variety to build offers and bundles without opening a folder called BONUS 7 FINAL NEW and losing 20 mins of your life in there.

Which brings me rather conveniently to…

The Digital Products Vault

If you’d rather skip the giant-folder treasure hunt, that’s exactly why I created the Sellable by Design Digital Products Vault.

It’s a library of professionally created, customizable digital-product templates with resale rights for people who’d rather spend their time SELLING than starting every new product from a blank Canva page.

You’ll find products across multiple categories, plus resources to help you customize them, package them and get them ready to sell.

Because the goal isn’t to own the most digital products.

It’s to actually build a business with them.

Where Can You Sell Digital Products?

Your options include your own website and a range of third-party marketplaces or digital-commerce platforms.

But here’s something important: you need to check the current rules of whichever platform you choose.

Marketplace policies change. and a license giving you permission to resell something doesn’t automatically mean every marketplace will permit you to list it in every form.

Your responsibility is to make sure both: the product license AND the selling platform permit what you’re doing.

How Much Should You Charge?

There’s no universal price because it depends on the product, buyer, problem, quality and market.

But don’t automatically race toward $3.99.

you need to ask yourself:

How valuable is the problem I’m solving?

  • A decorative printable and a business pricing calculator are different purchases.
  • A generic journal and a complete career-change toolkit are different purchases.
  • A single checklist and a complete niche business bundle are different purchases.

This is why niching and bundling are so powerful.

You can move from:

“Here’s a 20-page workbook.”

to:

“Here’s a complete career-change system for professionals who know they need out but don’t know what comes next.”

Now we’re having a completely different pricing conversation.

The Shortcut: Start With Products That Already Exist

Now maybe you’re reading this thinking:

“Okay. I get it. But I STILL don’t want to spend the next month creating all these products.”

Excellent.

That’s literally why I created Digital Products Vault.

Instead of opening Canva and starting with:

Page 1 of 84… you can start with professionally created, customizable digital-product templates.

The Digital Products Vault gives you access to thousands of editable products across multiple categories, plus resale rights under the included license, mockups, launch graphics, product-description resources, tutorials and selling tools.

All yyou need to do is customize, position and build your brand around products you actually want to sell.

And most importantly, you can spend less time making inventory and more time figuring out how to SELL it.

Who Is the Vault For?

It’s particularly useful if:

  • You’re starting a digital-product business and the blank-page stage is stopping you.
  • You’re already selling digital products and want to expand your catalogue without creating everything yourself.
  • You’re a coach or service provider who wants products you can customize for your audience.
  • You’re a creator who wants an additional revenue stream that doesn’t depend entirely on client work.

Or…

You have a million product ideas and have finished zero of them.

Stop Collecting Ideas. Start Building Offers.

Your saved-ideas folder is not a business.

You don’t need 100 products, a perfect logo, 10,000 Instagram followers, or six months spent designing one workbook while your enthusiasm dies quietly in a Canva tab.

Here’s the actual list:

  • a specific buyer
  • a useful product
  • a clear problem
  • good positioning
  • consistent marketing

That’s it. That’s the business.

Ready-made products knock out a huge chunk of the production work, and THAT is the entire reason I like them.

Not because they’re some push-button passive-income situation where money falls out of the sky while you nap.

They’re not. Sorry.

You still have to know exactly who you’re selling to, look different from the 400 other people selling something similar, market the thing, and sell it out loud more than once.

But instead of doing all of that AND building every single product from a blank page, you get a head start.

And sometimes, a head start is the only thing that gets the product launched.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I really resell digital products?

Yes, if the license supplied with the product gives you those rights. Always read the specific license rather than assuming all PLR, MRR and commercial-use products have identical terms.

What does PLR mean?

PLR generally stands for Private Label Rights. Depending on the license, it can allow buyers to edit, customize, brand and sell the underlying product. The exact permissions vary, so always check the individual license.

What’s the difference between PLR and MRR?

PLR generally focuses on rights to customize and sell a product, while MRR commonly includes rights allowing resale of the product along with certain resale rights. However, there is no substitute for reading the actual license supplied by the creator.

Do I have to change a PLR product before selling it?

That depends on the license and the rules of the marketplace you’re using. Strategically, I recommend customization anyway. Change the branding, positioning and packaging so you’re building a recognizable business rather than uploading an identical product.

What are good digital products to resell?

Workbooks, business tools, niche planners, spreadsheets, templates, guides and specialized bundles can all make good products when they solve a clear problem for a specific customer.

Can I sell resellable digital products on Etsy?

Don’t assume that owning resale rights automatically makes a product eligible for every marketplace. Etsy and other platforms have their own current creativity and seller policies. Check the latest platform rules before listing any third-party or licensed content.

How do I make my digital product stand out?

Get specific. Choose a clear buyer, solve a clear problem, improve the product where your license permits, create distinctive branding and sell an outcome rather than simply describing the number of pages or templates.

Where can I find editable digital products with resale rights?

The Sellable by Design Digital Products Vault contains professionally created, customizable digital-product templates across multiple categories, accompanied by the applicable resale/PLR license and resources designed to help you customize and market them.
